The Challenge

Knock On Wood is a vibrant bar in Jakarta with a strong personality — aged wood interiors, expertly mixed cocktails, and a social atmosphere built around good times and craftsmanship. But in a city full of nightlife options, the brand needed a way to cut through the noise online and show not just what they offer — but how it feels to be there.

Their goal was simple, yet strategic:

Create engaging social media content that highlights the bar’s distinctive environment and personality, increases online engagement, and drives foot traffic.

Approach & Strategy

Before pressing record, we focused on understanding what makes Knock On Wood distinct:

  • The bar’s unique selling point: cocktails aged in barrels — a craft element that ties directly to their brand name and experience.

  • The atmosphere: warm, woody, and inviting — a place for friends to gather, celebrate, and enjoy good drinks.

  • The people behind the bar: mixologists whose skills lend credibility and personality to the brand.

With that understanding, we developed a content strategy built around storytelling and sensory experience, instead of generic footage. Each video and photo wasn’t just a clip — it was a moment designed to feel like being there.

What We Created

Interior Showcases

  • Warm, cinematic captures of the bar space

  • Designed to communicate the inviting mood and distinct wood-heavy design

  • Helped audiences imagine themselves inside, whether planning a visit, event, or gathering

Bartenders in Action

  • Dynamic clips of bartenders crafting cocktails

  • Close-up motions and rhythm designed to feel kinetic and alive

  • Built deeper connection with viewer — showing the people behind the brand

Storytelling Segments

  • Short interview-style content with lead bartender

  • Positioned the craft and origin stories of the bar

  • Created context for why the brand is unique and worth visiting

Candid & Social Clips

  • Footage of patrons having fun and dancing

  • Raw, authentic moments to increase relatability and engagement

  • Perfect for Reels, TikTok, and social feeds

By anchoring the visuals around the barrel concept and human interaction, every piece of content ended up rooted in meaning — not just aesthetics.

What This Achieved

Though hard metrics aren’t always publicly available, this project gave Knock On Wood a content library that:

Highlights the bar’s atmosphere and personality in a way that static photos couldn’t
Increases social engagement through dynamic video storytelling
Helps future sponsors feel confident featuring the bar
Provides a consistent visual language that can be reused across platforms

This content became a digital extension of the bar itself — vibrant, inviting, and full of story.

Takeaway

For lifestyle brands like Knock On Wood, great content isn’t about quantity — it’s about capturing the feeling of an experience and translating that into visuals audiences can emotionally connect with.
